International HPC Summer School 2025, July 6-11, Lisbon, Portugal

Graduate students and postdoctoral scholars from institutions in Canada, Europe, Japan, Australia and the United States are being invited to apply for the 15th International High-Performance Computing (HPC) Summer School, to be held on July 6-11 in Lisbon, Portugal.

This is an in-person, expenses-paid educational event for selected graduate students and early-career postdocs involved in HPC code development. It has been given annually since 2010 in various locations in North America, Europe and Japan.

Topics covered in the school are parallel programming using C and Fortran and machine learning/big data using mostly a Python interface. The school has a strong mentoring component for the students.

Selection of participants is based on suitability of the applicant and the extent to which the learned skills can be used in their research group.

The 2025 summer school is sponsored by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking via the HPC SPECTRA project in Europe, the Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre in Australia, the Digital Research Alliance of Canada, the RIKEN Center for Computational Science in Japan, the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and the University of Texas at Austin in the U.S., along with other organizations from South Africa and the U.K.
